In Malaysia, most of the lung cancers are detected at stage 3 or 4. But, many are now aware of the importance of medical checkups and include scans like cardiac CT or LDCT as part of the armamentarium during their visit to the doctor. These scans ought to detect early lung nodules, which are < 2cm and sometimes difficult to biopsy. In these circumstances, ICG localisation can be done to guide the resection of the nodule for frozen section, and then decide on the definitive surgery, which will be a segmentectomy and lymphadenectomy. ICG can also be used to delineate intersegmental planes for resection. I will demonstrate how a patient was navigated throughout these procedures, from detection of a lung nodule to completion of surgery.
