This session is a reflective and motivational presentation designed to inspire clinicians—particularly early-career doctors and time-pressed healthcare professionals—to engage with the transformative potential of clinical research. Research is framed not as a privilege of academics, but as an accessible, rewarding extension of clinical practice that enhances diagnostic reasoning, improves patient outcomes, and propels career development.
Drawing from personal experience, I will share my journey of starting small—with clinical audits and case reports—while navigating the realities of a busy clinical workload. Through real-life anecdotes, I will explore common challenges such as time constraints, inexperience, and uncertainty, reframing them as opportunities for growth that can be overcome with curiosity, mentorship, and collaborative effort.
Beyond outputs like publications and presentations, the talk will highlight the intangible benefits of research: renewed purpose, deeper professional engagement, and the joy of contributing to the advancement of care. Attendees will gain practical strategies to begin their own research journey, from identifying a question to building networks and sustaining momentum.
Ultimately, this session serves as a call to action—reminding every clinician that the path to impactful research begins with a simple question at the bedside and the courage to pursue it.
