This session emphasizes the critical role of pre-procedure planning in optimizing navigational bronchoscopy for pulmonary lesion diagnosis. Various pre-procedure planning methods and their respective advantages and disadvantages are briefly reviewed. The session then provides a concise overview of key components of manual navigation techniques, including (1) the correlation between CT imaging and bronchoscopic views, (2) a summary of bronchial branching patterns and tracing techniques, and (3) guidance on selecting appropriate tools to maximize diagnostic yield. Finally, a practical procedural algorithm is presented to guide clinicians through lesion-based sampling, with a focus on planning, navigation, and contingency strategies. This session aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy and procedural confidence in advanced bronchoscopy.
