Bronchiectasis is a clinical syndrome of recurrent or persistent productive cough and abnormal bronchial dilatation on chest computed tomography (CT) scans. Recognising bronchiectasis exacerbations promptly is important, as exacerbations are associated with increased psychological stress and impaired quality of life. Managing exacerbations is a key component of bronchiectasis care and antibiotics has been the main standard of care. Choices of antibiotics are very crucial depending on the common pathogen in this group of patients. On top of the antibiotics, other measures include airway clearance and nutritional rehabilitation and vaccination should also in line to ensure optimal care are given to this patient.
