Introduction
TB is an important occupational disease. A study has shown that HCW had 2.94 higher risk of developing TB disease as compared to the general population.

Objectives
To assess the understanding, knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) on tuberculosis transmission and prevention among healthcare workers in order to develop recommendation of an interventional program.

Methods
This is a quantitative online-survey study involving 3 major healthcare facilities in Kuala Lumpur. The survey questioned different aspects of KAP on TB infection.

Results
Data was collected from 629 HCW across the healthcare facilities whom, most had experience in managing TB patients. Based on the mean score, the level of knowledge among HCW was poor. Only 56.6% had good level of knowledge. Knowledge was influenced by the level of education, and experience in managing TB. Large percentage of HCW showed negative attitudes of towards TB infection. Most of the HCW practised infection control correctly when managing TB patients. There  Both positive attitude, and correct practice were associated with having good level of knowledge. Most HCW reported not having any TB training 12 months prior, and expressed desire for additional information.

Conclusion
Intervention program should focus on improving knowledge by regular training sessions, with tailored content according to the background of the HCW, and incorporating e-learning. Other measures like on-the-job training and supervision may improve both knowledge and practice at the same time. Following this, on-going evaluation needs to be carried out.
