Asok Kurup

Dr Asok Kurup is an infectious disease physician practising at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. His clinical expertise encompasses managing diverse infections ranging in complexity from outpatient to inpatient care. Conditions include community type infections, tuberculosis, parasitic, brain infection, pneumonia, skin, bone and joint infections, and surgical infections. Dr Kurup attained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1992. He then obtained a Master of Medicine in internal medicine from NUS and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, UK in 1997. Dr Kurup was at the forefront of infectious diseases outbreaks, such as the Nipah virus outbreak in 1999, the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the H1N1 pandemic of 2009.
