Azza Omar

Senior Consultant in the Department of Respiratory and General Medicine, Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Malaysia Dr Azza’s clinical and research interest are in Severe Asthma, Airway diseases and Lung Cancer. She established the multidisciplinary Severe Asthma Clinic in 2018 in her center and leads a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals in the Asthma. Her center, Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, is one of the pioneer hospitals to run severe asthma clinics in Malaysia. Together with 9 other key national respiratory physicians in the country, Dr Azza was part of the “Severe Asthma Working Group” who developed multiple materials, including a guide for all healthcare professionals to establish severe asthma clinics in Malaysia. She is also involved in the development of Malaysian Asthma Guidelines, a member of EVERSANA (Development of the 2024 Update of APSR Position Statement for the Management of Asthma) and she is also active in various Ministry of Health and Asthma committees, has academic collaborations from various institutions and universities, has multiple publications.
