Shobhana Sivandan

Dr Shobhana Sivandan is a thoracic radiologist, currently practising at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar, Seremban. Graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the International Medical University (IMU) in 2006, she embarked on a path towards advancing medical knowledge. Her desire to make a meaningful impact led her to pursue further education, culminating in the attainment of a master’s degree in Radiology from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2015. In 2020, she embarked on a transformative journey, undertaking subspecialty in the field of thoracic radiology with a clinical observership at the prestigious Royal Brompton Hospital London in 2023. This experience not only broadened her horizons but also solidified her position as a trailblazer in the realm of thoracic imaging. With a career spanning nearly two decades, she has traversed various hospital settings - Apart from HTJ Seremban ,she has also served Hospital Sibu and Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah, Kuala Pilah as a Radiologist. Dr Shobhana is actively involved in various virtual thoracic multidisciplinary team discussions (MDT) such as with the Institut Perubatan Respiratori (IPR,) and the East Coast Respiratory team, as well as physical MDT with the respiratory and rheumatology team in Hospital Seremban. Dr Shobhana has also been invited as a speaker for various courses held locally, by College of Radiology and Institut Perubatan Respiratory Malaysia to name a few organisations. She has presented at several national congresses/symposium over the last 4 years. She is also a member of several associations: namely the Malaysia Medical Association, College of Radiology Malaysia, myRAD, Asian and Oceanic Society for Paediatric Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, Malaysian Thoracic Society as well as European respiratory society. Dr Shobhana is also an honorary lecturer at the SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (IMU).
