Shivanthan Shanthikumar

A Prof Shanthikumar is a clinician scientist with expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine. They are clinical leads for asthma and respiratory complications of childhood cancer at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. Their research spans laboratory science, clinical trials, and health services research. They are an international leader in respiratory complications of haematopoietic stem cell transplant, as evidenced by being lead author of an American Thoracic Society endorsed guideline. Their expertise in asthma is evidenced by membership of the current European Respiratory Society/American Thoracic Society Taskforce on Severe Asthma. They have published 73 peer reviewed publications (43 as first/senior author).
