Sim Wen Yuan
Dr Sim Wenyuan is a Respiratory Physician and an Intensivist.
He has a keen interest in acute respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation, and strives to use advanced respiratory monitoring techniques (e.g. oesophageal pressure, electrical impedance tomography) to personalise mechanical ventilation.
He is also aware of the serious iatrogenic harms we can inflict on our patients in the ICU, and is thus an advocate for the humanisation of the care that we deliver as well as for ventilator/ICU liberation.
Outside of work, he is a proud husband and father of 2 young children, aged 5 and 3.
